Batch-Make a Week’s Supply of Salad Dressing

Homemade dressings are remarkably easy to prepare, and they offer the advantage of avoiding the unpleasant additives, preservatives, and vegetable oils often present in store-bought dressings.

We find the best method is to add everything to a glass jar with a lid (empty peanut butter jars are the perfect candidate), shake well to combine, and then store the dressing in the fridge for up to a week. Before serving, remember to bring the dressing to room temperature.

Basic Dressing Recipe:

  • ½ cup olive oil
  • ⅓ cup red wine vinegar or vinegar of your choice
  • 1 Tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
  • A good pinch of salt and pepper

Feel free to adjust the ratio of oil to vinegar to suit your personal taste! You can also add ingredients like garlic, spices, or fresh herbs.
