Savoury Spiced Nuts

These smokey, salty-sweet roasted nuts are easy to make and even easier to disappear. They are the perfect addition to your next platter or to make as a homemade gift this festive season.

  • Set a timer!
  • Allow the contents to cool completely before placing them in jars. Any residual warmth could create condensation, affecting the roasted texture.
  • Swap butter for olive oil.
  • 400g raw mixed nuts
  • 30g butter
  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp tamari
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees (fan bake).

  2. In a small saucepan melt together the butter and maple syrup.

  3. Remove from the heat and stir through the spices and salt. Add the nuts to the saucepan and mix well to combine.

  4. Add the nuts to a lined baking tray and roast for 15-20 minutes, keep an eye on them as they burn quickly.

  5. Allow to cool completely before storing in a glass jar or airtight container.
